Job Description
Position Overview: The Buyer/ Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement process, ensuring timely and cost‑effective sourcing of goods and services. This role will involve supplier quality management, contract negotiation, cost control and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to meet operational and strategic goals.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in Mandarin is a definite asset.
- Must have purchasing experience and be able to read manufacturing drawings.
- Formal college or university education.
- Demonstrated experience managing suppliers, performance and developing long‑term relationships.
- Experience in Metal fabrication, surface finishes, and custom manufacturing environment.
- Highly organized, creative and self‑motivated.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute RFQs/RFPs.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet quality, cost, and the delivery objectives.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Production, Engineering, Quality Control, and Finance to align purchasing strategies with operational needs.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform daily reviews of purchase requests and the inventory management system, ensuring purchase orders are issued in a timely manner.
- Ensure all activities comply with company policies, established purchasing processes, and quality management workflows.
- Other duties as required.
