Business Architect – Senior Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Pay rate: CAD$90/Hr- CAD$100/Hr
The Business Architect will support legislative and strategic initiatives by leading the development and maintenance of Enterprise Business Architecture for a large, complex information management system. The role focuses on defining business capabilities, future-state architectures, and governance artifacts to support system modernization, data platforms, and cloud-based solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead Business Architecture activities and develop enterprise-level architecture artifacts
Analyze business needs, engage stakeholders, and facilitate workshops
Define and model enterprise and core business capabilities
Design future-state business architectures aligned with strategy, legislation, and technology
Develop business transformation roadmaps and support solution delivery
Ensure vertical alignment between Business Architecture, Solution Requirements, and Information Architecture
Support architecture governance and review checkpoints
10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in Business Architecture on large initiatives
Proven experience delivering enterprise or core business architectures
Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills
Experience leading architecture engagements across multiple projects
Expertise in capability modeling, process modeling (BPMN), value chains, and KPI definition
Ability to establish and maintain architectural governance and controls
Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., Zachman)
Experience across additional architecture domains (Information, Application)
Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and information management
Experience with modern cloud and data platforms
Exposure to scaled agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe)
Hands-on experience with EA modeling tools
Demonstrated experience developing Business Architecture artifacts aligned with enterprise standards
Proven ability to align Business Architecture with Solution Requirements and Information Architecture documentation
Experience producing Business Architecture Documentation following industry best practices
