The Branch The Education Analytics Branch (EAB) supports the analysis and dissemination of data by developing reports and tools for public, school board and ministry use to inform policy development, instructional practice, and system management.

In this role, you will: • Lead and conduct various analytical and statistical projects, analyses and interpretations involving education data • Develop analytical reports, presentations, briefing materials and correspondence for senior management and external stakeholders • Coordinate the development of analyses and provide leadership and professional guidance to analysts • Participate in consultations with ministry specialists and data providers to ensure the quality and integrity of data • Lead and participates in special research projects How do I qualify?.

Knowledge of Statistical Analysis Theory: • You have knowledge of statistical analysis theory, analysis techniques and applications, and research methods and procedures • You demonstrate skills in adapting and applying statistical theories and techniques to address complex problems • You possess experience in applying data processing techniques to integrate different data sets for analysis Analytical, Research and Problem-Solving Skills: • You have analytical, evaluative and research skills to perform analysis for data quality and accuracy to identify trends, patterns and relationships and evaluate operational efficiency. • You know how to analyze and interpret data and survey results, identify their significance to policy and planning issues and make recommendations • You can anticipate complex issues and recommend options for resolution. Communication and Consultation Skills: • You have effective oral and written communication and presentation skills to prepare briefing notes, provide advice and recommendations, liaise with stakeholders and present statistical information to a variety of contacts, stakeholders, and senior management. • You have consultation, collaboration and influencing skills to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with clients and stakeholders. Computer and Information Management Skills: • You have experience using large databases, advanced spreadsheet functionalities, statistical/analytical software and reporting tools such as SAS and Microsoft Power BI. • You possess experience using common computer software applications (e.g. MS Office) to prepare reports, correspondence and presentations. • You have knowledge of information management practice and processes, data warehousing and use of business intelligence (BI) tools, data retrieval and analysis systems to techniques to manage and conduct in-depth analyses and studies, to develop reports and provide guidance and statistical advice.
