About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Investment Operations to be responsible for the monthly and quarterly accounting close including the prepare and review of accounting schedule, reconciliation and journal entries.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Operations, the incumbent will also challenge the status quote and find ways to optimize current processes and reporting to create operational efficiency.
As the Newest Member of our Team, You’ll:
- Assist with the oversee and review of the accounting close process; prepare and review accounting schedules, reconciliations, journal entries and reports and provide support to resolve ad-hoc issues or requests
- Produce reports and analysis to be utilized by senior leadership team and other stakeholder in the decision-making process, including Investment Cost Report and Quarterly Financial Highlights
- Calculate and review management and performance fees in accordance with investment agreements
- Calculate and review current investment fund valuations and provide pricing updates to the custodian and performance measurement provider
- Manage onboarding process for new investments for the Investment Operations side; initiate account openings with custodian (including market opening/global tax documentation), prepare KYC/FATCA/CRS documentation, identify key inputs/documentations needed from investment managers for operational efficiency, and coordinate custody/accounting requirements with custodian
- Prepare reporting and compliance deliverables involving the Investment portfolio to external parties
- Optimize processes and reporting to create operational efficiencies, ensuring scalability and strong controls as well as the documentation of policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain a solid understanding of CAAT’s portfolio
- Provide oversight and training to junior team members
To Succeed, You Bring:
- University degree or College Diploma or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline
- A minimum of three (3) to Five (5) years of progressive experience in accounting/finance within pension plan, institutional asset manager, financial services or accounting firm
- Completion or working towards CPA, CFA, FRM, CAIA or other relevant designation is considered an asset
- Experience with applications such as Python, VBA and Power BI is an asset
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office and with the adaptability to learn new applications
- Ability and willingness to take ownership and accountability for tasks and projects
- A Self-starter attitude with an exceptional work ethics, along with a mindset focused on automation and efficiency
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
- Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to consistently deliver quality outputs in a fast-paced environment, with the capability to work to tight deadlines and handle ad-hoc requests
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels and build strong partnerships for effective collaboration
