Senior Accountant – EAM Canada Overview:

 

The Senior Accountant is responsible for full-cycle accounting using AS400 and S2K. Provide accurate and objective support on business issues and offer technical and experience-based advice to management team. Responsible for recording and maintaining an accurate general ledger with in-depth understanding of each entry. The Senior Accountant will lead month-end close and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate shows extreme attention to detail and analytical skills.

 

Duties & Responsibilities: Individually:

 

  • Manage daily transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and perform bank reconciliations
  • Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers to assist in preparation of operating and financial statements.
  • Accurately determines the value of inventory and freight costs associated with multiple business entities.
  • Manage the flow of inventory costs from raw materials to finished goods, update and reconcile BOM with COS and ensure accuracy. Update standard costs as needed.
  • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate records of general ledger
  • Prepare and submit timely management/ad hoc reports within established time frame, formats and guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively across departments, businesses and US head-office, clearly communicating updates and requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in HFM (Hyperion financial management) and other reporting / consolidation tools is must.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP and S2K enterprise is an asset.
  • Act as a functional lead for SAP implementation, defining requirements, validating data integrity with in-depth understanding of transactional impact in books of accounts.

 

 

Team:

 

  • Provide support to the financial controller in monthly and annual closing.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in monthly and annual audits.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned
  • Research and resolve variances between business units and/or departments.

 

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education/MBA and university degree in accounting are must. CPA strongly preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Candidate should have extensive attention to detail along with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent computer and analytical skills; must be proficient in excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas and Power Query).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work on site.

 

Job Conditions:

 

  • Job Location: EAM Mosca Canada Ltd., 170 William Smith Drive, Whitby, ON
  • Days of work: Monday to Friday - Onsite.
  • Salary: $90K- $95k annually (depending on profile & relevant experience)
  • The hiring is open to all applicants able to work 40 hours per week.
