The college offers comprehensive training programs to prepare students for success in various skilled trades professions.

Role Description

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing full-cycle accounting function. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable function
  • prepare job costing reports.
  • Assist with month-end process.
  • Prepares monthly bank reconciliation.
  • Reconciles the general ledger accounts and prepares journal entries.
  • Reconciles monthly inter-company transactions.
  • Responsible for preparing unearned revenue schedules.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports.
  • Assist the accounting department with day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Assist with the year-end audit, including preparation of accounting reconciliations and supporting documents.
  • Responsible for the accounting and reporting of the non-for profit Organization
  • Filing and maintaining accounting files
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in full-cycle accounting processes.
  • Solid understanding of HST and tax compliance regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

 

Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Degree in Accounting from a recognized Canadian Education Institution (College or University);
  • Minimum 2 years' experience
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365.
  • Proficient in working in QuickBooks Online.
  • Ability to commute to our Vaughan
