We are seeking a Security Engineer to join our team in Toronto or Winnipeg. In this role, you will be a key member in protecting our critical information assets through security designs, implementations, and maintenance of critical systems. You will leverage extensive experience in IT systems engineering and Cybersecurity operations to identify and mitigate security risk continuously.

The Security Engineer Will

• Design, implement and maintain security technologies.
• Collaborate with enterprise and solutions architects to define secure-by-design patterns and reference architecture.
• Lead and deliver systems design, architecture, and cloud security designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and troubleshoot security platform related incidents, ensuring solutions are secure, compliant, and scalable.
• Develop and implement security best practices for cloud access, services, and solutions.
• Provide production support, responding to and resolving security incidents in a timely manner.
• Establish and maintain identity governance frameworks, including privileged identity management (PIM) for elevated access.
• Stay current with industry awareness & research in security and privacy, best practices, technologies, and regulations to ensure competitive positioning and continuous improvements.
• Participating in developing and executing security strategies, plans, and budgets in alignment with business objectives and risk tolerance under the direction of the CISO.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s business, technologies, processes, systems, data, and partnerships to align security strategies.
• Serve as the main contact for security incidents and collaborate with partner firms to achieve security program objectives.
• Represent the security program in industry conferences, forums, and meetings relevant to the company’s cybersecurity objectives.
• Stay informed about security threats and vulnerabilities, sharing knowledge across the business to reduce risk.
  
  

• Proven experience in implementing security solutions on Azure, with a focus on Entra ID and Azure Information Protection.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Thrives in dynamic environments with competing priorities and multiple stakeholders, demonstrating initiative and the ability to take ownership of solutions with minimal oversight.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of adapting messaging for both technical and non-technical audiences. Effectively negotiates with stakeholders while managing risks and ensuring delivery.
• Demonstrates a deep understanding of business operations and how different components work together to design and implement efficient processes and technology.
• Makes sound decisions with a sense of urgency, prioritizing high standards of ethics, customer service, regulatory compliance, and business integrity.
  
  

• Extensive experience in security architecture, design and engineering of security systems, ideally financial sectors.
• Strong background in security technologies and frameworks for protecting business data and systems.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both business and technical teams.
• Knowledgeable in security standards and frameworks like ISO 27001 and other industry’s best practices.
• 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years focused on cybersecurity.
• Additional certifications such as CISSP and CISM desired.
