SAP IS - OIL Business Analyst (TSW, TD, HPM, MRN, CPE, EXG, SSR, TDP)

  • Rates: Open
  • Location: remote within Canada ONLY - Calgary based
  • Remote: Yes
  • Travel: Every 5 – 8 weeks possible trip to Calgary. Ad hoc travel to the USA (USA Travel documents required)
  • Start: Nov.1, 2025
  • End: Aug.31, 2026

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

The SAP Business Analyst acts as a critical liaison between IT and Business teams, ensuring effective communication, alignment of requirements, and successful delivery of SAP-related support and projects. This role is responsible for supporting production operations, managing business requirements, and coordinating project activities to enable business process improvements and system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaison Between IT and Business:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between business users and IT teams, translating business needs into functional requirements and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Production Support (First Line of Defence):
  • Review and triage incoming support tickets and enhancement requests related to SAP systems.
  • Resolve issues that do not require code or configuration changes, escalating technical issues as necessary.
  • Collaborate with business users to clarify problems, gather additional information, and provide timely resolutions.
  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation:
  • Develop comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) to capture business needs for enhancements and new projects.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand and document business processes, requirements, and objectives.
  • Project Delivery Support:
  • Prepare Process Design Documents (PDDs) detailing proposed solutions and process changes.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with key stakeholders to identify business process gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in the creation and review of test scripts in QTest, ensuring test coverage aligns with business requirements.

Qualifications:

MUST HAVE

  • 5+ years of experience as an SAP functional consultant.
  • Strong understanding of SAP Hydro-Carbon Value Chain / Order to Cash / and/or Record to Report
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with ticketing systems, QTest, and project management tools is a plus.
