The Class B Refrigeration Operator opportunity work with-in Whitby and Vaughan locations and reports to the Chief Operator. The position requires continental shifts, roving between the two sites, thus candidates must have open and flexible availability.</p><p>The 3rd Class Stationary Engineer will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Experience within a TSSA-regulated ammonia plant</li><li>Operate air compressors, chillers, water towers, water softeners, air dryers, pumps, and fans</li><li>Chiller maintenance including cooling towers and associated equipment</li><li>Extensive experience on HVAC/R systems</li><li>Responsible for the safe operation of the refrigeration plant</li><li>Perform all tasks related to the safe and efficient operation of the plant including repairs and maintenance</li><li>Perform routine inspection and testing of equipment and building infrastructure to ensure proper operation</li><li>Perform minor repair and general maintenance duties associated with building systems</li><li>Document air compressor readings, all plant steam produced and consumption and gas consumption; supply gas forecasts to gas supplier</li><li>Track and log all gas, water, and hydro readings</li><li>Monitor and maintain water treatment for chillers and cooling towers</li><li>Familiar with CMM and preventative maintenance programs</li><li>Provide access and assistance to sub-trades as required</li></ul><p><strong>EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>Must possess a 3rd Class Power Engineer certificate or higher or A or B Refrigeration Operator class certificate</li></ul><p><strong>WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>Must have experience working as an operator in an ammonia plant</li></ul><p><strong>SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>Must be able to work 3:30-3:30 and 5:00-5:00 on a continental rotational shift </li><li>Must be able to work in both locations in Vaughan and Whitby</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and interpersonal skills</li><li>Bending and lifting required; lifting under 30 kg</li><li>Ability to climb stairs and work on a ladder or scaffold as required</li><li>Good computer skills</li><li>Good oral and written communication skills</li><li>Provide vacation coverage for other operators</li><li>Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain necessary security clearances</li></ul><p>Black & McDonald welcomes and encourages applications from persons with disabilities.<br />Accommodations are available upon request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the recruitment and selection process. </p><p>#LI-MK1</p></p></p>Create Your Resume First
