<p>Surespan is a Canada-wide general contractor working on heavy civil construction projects with a focus on bridge construction and remote access. Focusing on ingenuity and value-engineering, Surespan highly prizes everyone's contribution to making Surespan a best-in-class employer and industry service provider.</p><p>As a Rig Welder, you will be heavily involved in the fabrication and bridge building process, while expected to work safely and efficiently. You will be the very foundation that the production process relies on, developing new skills and good habits along the way.</p><p>Position Requirements:</p><ul><li>Experience with FCAW Self Shielded & Sub Arc Welding is mandatory.</li><li>Must hold active CWB Certification</li><li>Minimum 2 years experience in the welding industry is preferred.</li><li>Can have own rig truck and tools (you would be a subcontractor) OR we can provide (you would be an employee).</li><li>If you are a subcontractor, must be insured have GST# and WCB.</li><li>Must provide a clean Drug and Alcohol test prior to coming to site.</li><li>Setup and operate Oxy/Acetylene for cutting.</li><li>Basic Crane rigging for lifting and hoisting bridges and bridge components</li><li>Physically fit for light to medium liftings.</li><li>Good Verbal and Written English communication skills.</li><li>Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision as well as in a group setting.</li></ul><p>Location of Employment:</p><p>This posting is Remote across BC. LOA is provided. Typical working rotation is 21 days on, 7 days off. Applicants must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's License and be legally permitted to work in Canada.</p>
