<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>The Institute for Mental Health Policy Research at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, contract (1-year) Research Analyst. The successful candidate will work with a team of researchers affiliated with the Ontario Node of the Canadian Research Initiative in Substance Matters (CRISM). OCRINT conducts evidence-based research to improve interventions and systems for people who use substances, focusing on prevention and treatment for substance use and the translation of research into practice and policy.</p><p>CAMH emphasizes its core values of Courage, Respect and Excellence and its Strategic Plan Connected CAMH, which aims to transform lives, ignite innovation, revolutionize education, and drive social change. To view our Land Acknowledgment, please click here.</p><p>The Research Analyst will support a multi-year evaluation of British Columbia’s policy on the decriminalization of illicit substances for personal possession and will report directly to the project’s Quantitative Lead. This role emphasizes quantitative research activities, including conducting advanced statistical analyses, and contributing to the interpretation, drafting, and writing of quantitative results for internal reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Assemble, manage, clean, and prepare large datasets for statistical modeling</li><li>Support the development of analytic plans and statistical code</li><li>Conduct and interpret advanced quantitative analyses used in health policy evaluation, including controlled interrupted time series analyses, difference-in-difference analyses, synthetic control analyses, and Joinpoint regression</li><li>Contribute to the writing of reports, policy briefs, and academic manuscripts</li><li>Prepare presentations and summarize findings for diverse audiences</li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders and project team members to support integrated knowledge translation</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p>The successful candidate will hold, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, science, or a related field, with at least one year of research experience (preferably in substance use). Subject matter knowledge in addictions, drug policy, and decriminalization of illicit drugs is required. Experience in academic, research, or community health service settings is required. The ideal candidate will have advanced quantitative skills, experience managing large datasets, and conducting statistical analyses for health policy evaluation using software such as R, SAS, STATA, Joinpoint Regression Program or equivalent. Strong scientific writing skills, proven ability to learn new skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team are essential. This position is primarily remote.</p></p>
