Roles & Responsibilities:
- Repair Engineering Team reactively supports to assess and disposition service-run non-conforming components, and develop pro-active solutions to minimize operating costs
- The candidate’s main duty is to assess, investigate and devise a quality technical response on Gas Turbine Product Technical Variances. The response’s key factors considered are cost efficiency, turnaround time and customer satisfaction, while maintaining highest product integrity, design and operability intent
- Stand as the OEM Engineering to assess, investigate and formulate engineering technical response to sentence Non-Conformance components from Technical Variances (TV) requests
- Interact with broad range of suppliers, senior management and customers, both locally and internationally.
- Define, review and release inspection criteria and acceptance limits for the repair and overhaul Engine Manuals (at component, sub-assembly or whole engine level).
- Create and Develop Repair Methods and Repair Documentation of the Gas turbine components. This task done in assistance and supervision and assistance from the Repair Specialist
- Identify, develop and apply optimum repair or acceptability solutions
- Identify new cost reduction opportunities
- Take ownership and lead the solution delivery to its final stage
- When required, the candidate will identify, involve and coordinate additional technical specialist to deliver a technically approved solution (e.g.
Stress, Design, Aerothermal, Performance, etc. - Manage work in accordance with project cost, timescale, and quality targets
- Work with internal and external customers depending upon project and program activities
- Work with external Repair Vendors for repair development program and to work in collaboration with customer support for the resolution of technical issues
- Continuously assess and identify improvement opportunities to the repair methods, and component inspection requirements/limits.
- Develop cost saving measures through the delivered technical solutions
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
- Engineering degree, eligible for OIQ membership
- Minimum 2 years of relevant technical experience
- Have knowledge of gas turbines and/or industrial equipment, project management and repair / manufacturing techniques
- Aerospace rotating components experience like shafts, discs.
- Good understanding of component definition drawings
- Ability to read, speak, write, understand and verbally express ideas and instructions in French and English
Desired Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate with peers, subordinates, supervisors and management personnel.
- Experience in a customer facing environment. Proven record of delivering technical solutions and improvements are advantageous
- High degree of autonomy and ability to self-manage priorities within the team’s objectives to achieve customer expectations.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
- Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
