We practice in a rich and rewarding environment where patient care is optimized, and learning is continuous.<br /> Overview <br />Coastal Care Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital is looking for an collaborative and professional Registered Veterinary Technician with a passion for Internal Medicine to join our specialty team. This position requires a driven individual with attention to detail and who is a self- starter and able to work in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate must be computer literate and have multi-tasking and time management skills. The ideal candidate values maintaining a collegial working culture and prioritizes client care, embracing the strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization to deliver high standards of medicine and exceptional patient care.<br /> Job Summary: <br />The Internal Medicine RVT has many important responsibilities and is routinely entrusted with patient assessments, sedation/anesthesia, procedures, diagnostics, and treatments. The technician will be responsible for patient care, patient follow-up, and maintenance of Internal Medicine appointments and records.<br />They will be expected to maintain regular client follow up, and answer owner and referring veterinarian-related questions.<br />The technician must be a detail-oriented person who can make good decisions, respond quickly and calmly, and maintain high standards of patient care.<br />The technician will need to maintain clear and accurate written communications with the specialists, other hospital personnel, and clients to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.<br /> Job Duties: <br />-Assist with procedures and perform diagnostics that include but are not limited to ultrasound, endoscopy/rhinoscopy/cystoscopy, chemotherapy, CT scans, fine-needle aspirates and cytology.<br />-Maintain a professional, friendly demeanor at all times.<br />-Demonstrate the willingness to obtain a full working knowledge of practice software.<br />-Support and educate clients on medical related illness, disease and treatment.<br />-Prioritize tasks to maximize clients' satisfaction and patients' health.<br /> Qualifications: <br />- Registered Veterinary Technician designation, with a minimum of 2 years of experience.<br />- Registered with EVTA/NSVMA.<br />- Our ideal candidate is a team player with excellent communication skills, who is detail oriented and thrives in a fast-paced environment while connecting with our team and clients through their love of pets.<br />- Multi-tasking and organizational skills.<br />- Ability to plan and prioritize.<br />- An approach that is progressive, strategic, humble, and achievement oriented.<br />- Commitment to outstanding client service is essential.<br /> Total Compensation: We recognize how critical RVTs are to providing the best possible medical, surgical, and preventative medicine.
