<h3>POSITION SUMMARY</h3><p>Our client is a global leader in Pediatric Health, with over 400 staff and physicians dedicated to helping children and youth live their best lives. They are currently seeking a <b>Registered Nurse (RN)</b> to provide mental health nursing as part of the multidisciplinary Consultation Liaison team.</p>
<p>Services include consultation, assessments, and treatment of both medical inpatient and outpatient cases presenting with mental health issues. The role involves hospital-wide duties related to suicide risk screening and support. Weekend and evening work will be required.</p>
<h3>JOB DESCRIPTION</h3>
<ol>
<li>Provide mental health nursing to medical patients referred to the Consultation Liaison (CL) team, including consultation and treatment services for medical inpatients and outpatients with mental health issues.</li>
<li>Support hospital-wide suicide risk screening projects.</li>
<li>Provide nursing information and coaching to nursing staff regarding suicide prevention.</li>
<li>Offer appropriate information and support to patients and families regarding suicide prevention.</li>
<li>Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.</li>
<li>Participate in the development and implementation of programming.</li>
<li>Mentor students and new staff members.</li>
<li>Perform other mental health duties as assigned.</li>

<h3>QUALIFICATIONS</h3>
<li>Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check (PRC) – Essential</li>
<li>Current College of Nurses registration – Essential</li>
<li>Current CPR certification – Essential</li>
<li>B.Sc. Nursing – Essential</li>
<li>Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health nursing – Essential</li>
<li>Certificate in Mental Health Nursing – Preferred</li>
<li>Experience in crisis intervention, short-term interventions, and evidence-based treatment – Essential</li>
<li>Knowledge translation experience, specifically related to suicide prevention – Preferred</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with other health professionals – Essential</li>
<li>Knowledge of mental health legislation, treatment modalities, short-term interventions, and experience with suicide risk assessment and intervention – Essential</li>
<li>Knowledge of crisis and suicide support services and agencies in Ottawa and eastern Ontario – Preferred</li>
<li>Bilingual in French and English – Preferred</li>
