<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Radiation Oncologist – The R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre (RSMDRCC) at Lakeridge Health is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncologist to join the existing team of eleven radiation oncologists.</p><p>The RSMDRCC is a well-integrated cancer centre that provides comprehensive multidisciplinary cancer management to a population of approximately 1.6 million people in the Central East. The centre hosts the Central East Thoracic and Gynecologic Oncology surgical programs, and the Radiation program provides IGRT, VMAT, IMRT, SBRT, SRS external-beam radiotherapy, in addition to a strong brachytherapy program for prostate, gynecologic, and skin malignancies. The department operates seven linear accelerators, with one located in Peterborough, Ontario. There is an active regional outreach program with regular clinics in Peterborough, Cobourg, Lindsay, and Scarborough; willingness to travel to regional sites across the Central East is required.</p><p>The RSMDRCC hosts an active Clinical Trials program with strong participation from the Radiation program. The Oncology Program is committed to the education of radiation oncology residents, medical and radiation therapy students, aligned with Lakeridge Health’s education vision.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide radiation oncology care using IGRT, VMAT, IMRT, SBRT, SRS external-beam radiotherapy, and brachytherapy as part of a multidisciplinary team.</li><li>Contribute to a regional outreach program by supporting regular clinics in Peterborough, Cobourg, Lindsay, and Scarborough, and travel to regional sites as required.</li><li>Engage in clinical trials and participate in ongoing research activities within the Radiation program.</li><li>Educate and mentor radiation oncology residents, medical students, and radiation therapy students.</li><li>Collaborate with Central East cancer and thoracic/gynecologic surgical programs to provide integrated patient care.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Eligibility for licensure to practice in Ontario.</li><li>FRCPC certification in Radiation Oncology at the time of appointment.</li><li>Knowledge and experience in treating different disease-sites is expected; an interest in Breast, Lung, Hematologic, and Skin malignancies is desirable.</li></ul><h3>Position Details</h3><ul><li>Start Date: flexible, as early as December 1, 2025.</li><li>How to Apply: Interested candidates are invited to submit a CV and Cover Letter to mdcv@lh.ca (Attention: Dr. Medhat El-Mallah – Division Head).</li><li>Application Deadline: October 4, 2025</li></ul><h3>About Lakeridge</h3><p>With five hospitals, four emergency departments, three critical care units, a long-term care home, a full range of medical and surgical specialties, more than 20 community health-care locations, and a state-of-the-art surgical centre within the Jerry Coughlan Health & Wellness Centre, Lakeridge Health offers broad and comprehensive acute care, ambulatory care, and long-term care services in Ontario.</p><p>Lakeridge Health is home to regional specialty centres and services, including the Central East Regional Cancer Program, R.S.
