<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>JSI Telecom requires that you pass a Police Information Check (PIC) **</strong><br /><strong>** It is a condition of employment that you must be successful in obtaining and maintaining up to a Top-Secret security clearance through the Company&#39;s sponsorship. **</strong><br /><strong>** Candidates must not be subject to the Government of Canada OCV (Out-of-country verification) process to obtain security clearances. Typically, this means that at the time of application all candidates for co-op terms must not have left Canada for more than 6 consecutive months in the past 10 years. The government of Canada OCV requirements are subject to change without notice.**</strong></p><p>We are looking for Software Quality Assurance Co-op students to support our QA team in ensuring the highest standards of software quality. The position is focused exclusively on Manual QA tasks, and does not involve coding responsibilities. As a co-op, you will be responsible for testing software applications to identify defects and ensure the functionality meets the requirements and expectations. </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></p><ul><li>Conduct manual testing of software applications to ensure functionality, performance, and usability meet the required standards.</li><li>Create, execute, and document test cases and test plans based on project specifications and requirements.</li><li>Identify, report, and track defects in the software using our defect tracking system.</li><li>Collaborate with developers, project managers, and other QA team members to ensure a smooth and efficient testing process.</li><li>Participate in team meetings and provide input on quality assurance processes and practices.</li><li>Assist in the preparation of test data and perform regression testing as needed.</li><li>Verify that fixes are correctly implemented by retesting issues and ensuring resolution.</li><li>Maintain thorough documentation for testing activities and results. </li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Must be a Canadian Permanent Resident (PR) or Citizen to apply.</li><li>Enrollment in a recognized post-secondary program (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering).</li><li>Strong attention to detail and a passion for ensuring quality in software products.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work well both independently and in a team-oriented environment.</li><li>Prior experience in manual software testing or quality assurance (preferred but not required).</li><li>Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies is an asset.</li><li>Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and technologies.</li><li>A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a keen interest in software quality. </li></ul><p><strong>Perks </strong></p><ul><li>Gain hands-on experience in software testing and quality assurance processes.</li><li>Work in a collaborative and innovative environment with experienced professionals.</li><li>Opportunity to contribute to impactful projects and improve software quality.</li><li>Hybrid work model (2 days a week in the office). </li></ul><p><strong>How We Work</strong></p><p>You will be expected to work in a remote/hybrid environment reporting to our Kanata, Ontario location 2 or more times per week.</p><p><strong>About JSI</strong></p><p>JSI is built on purpose, that of making a difference in the world.</p><p>Founded in 1979, this privately-owned technology company is the North American leader in designing and developing acquisition, collection and analysis solutions for law enforcement and intelligence communities.</p><p>With 4Sight – JSI’s single, unified, product suite – customers can combine any number of disparate data sources into a highly intuitive, visually-focused platform.
