Python Developer – (v2.7) w Open-Source – Job DescriptionPerforming peer reviews, including refactoring existing application code to meet standardization and quality requirementsBuilding net new code encompasses about 80% of responsibilitiesDevelopment and support of a front-office trading system used for trade booking, trade execution and pricing of derivatives tradesTake ownership and responsibility of development of products onboarding to the trading platform and be efficient with sizing and estimates for developmentDesign and develop software programs using Python for Quant Management teamWork extensively with algorithms and operations of software along with our Quant/GAFE TeamBuild Application for front officeParticipate in design discussions on scalability, performance, and securityProactively partners with business line representatives to drive improved technology solutions that support business strategyParticipates as technical or business consultant in design, development, coding, testing, and debugging new packaged solutions or significant enhancements to existing applicationsExposure to complete SDLC, start to finish.Leverage industry best practices & writing clean minimalistic codeGenerate technical specifications of design and updating confluenceAssure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported areaBe flexible and thrive in an evolving environment to work with Quants and TradersAdapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner Python Developer – (v2.7) w Open-Source – Mandatory Skills10 years of design and development experience using Python (Version 2.7 and above) and hands-on experience and in dept knowledge of standard python libraries This role is for a true Python developerOpen-Source contribution experienceDemonstrated experience for application building using Python, OOP, Lamda functions, Pickling, etc.Performing peer reviews, including refactoring existing application code to meet standardization and quality requirementsThe successful candidate will have the opportunity to build an application for front office tradersStrong Python Development: 10 years of design and development experience using Python (Version 2.7 and above) and hands-on experience and in dept knowledge of standard python librariesExperience processing large volumes of data using PySpark, Pandas, and/or NumPy2 years’ experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, requests. etc.Experience in Object-oriented programming and Agile Development MethodologyExperience with TDD writing unit tests, test coverage using PyTest, PyUnit, pytest-cov librariesOpen-Source contribution experienceFinancial industry experienceVerbal and Written communicationAgility/ Agile mindsetBachelor’s degree in a related field required Python Developer – (v2.7) w Open-Source – Preferred SkillsKnowledge of Options/Structured Notes/Risk/MTM Python Developer – (v2.7) w Open-Source – Assignment Start Date ASAP – 6 months to start Python Developer – (v2.7) w Open-Source – Assignment Location Toronto, ON – Work Hybrid
