We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support major industrial projects and contribute directly to our continued success. This role is central to project execution, team coordination, and technical leadership.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Why Join VTEK</b></p><ul><li>Competitive salary and comprehensive group insurance.</li><li>Employer-matched pension plan.</li><li>Flexible working hours.</li><li>Paid sick days and Christmas holiday closure.</li><li>Structured recruitment and onboarding process.</li><li>Dynamic work environment that values innovation, quality, and collaboration.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Provide technical support and leadership to the Project Manager to meet safety, KPI, budget, scope, and schedule objectives.</li><li>Lead and support multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring high performance and alignment with VTEK's culture and standards.</li><li>Plan, organize, schedule, assign, and coordinate all engineering activities in collaboration with Discipline Engineering Managers.</li><li>Oversee project engineering deliverables and participate in the development of execution plans and resource allocation.</li><li>Work with the Project Manager and Construction Manager to establish engineering sequences, priorities, and deliverables across phases.</li><li>Ensure all safety and quality requirements are fully integrated into engineering activities.</li><li>Provide technical support to engineering and construction teams to ensure efficient and high-quality execution.</li><li>Review and approve data sheets, drawings, and technical documents submitted by suppliers and contractors.</li><li>Ensure engineering work packages are complete, coordinated, integrated, and aligned with project objectives.</li><li>Address client technical needs and ensure clear communication throughout the engineering lifecycle.</li><li>Contribute to the creation and implementation of policies, standards, and procedures for the Project Engineering & Design Team.</li><li>Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver fully integrated engineering deliverables.</li><li>Support contract development, bid reviews, and assessments for project procurement.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).</li><li>Valid P.Eng designation (or eligible for provincial licensure across Canada).</li><li>Minimum 8 years of experience as a Project Engineer in oil & gas or heavy industry.</li><li>Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.</li><li>Strong understanding of EPCM project environments.</li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.</li><li>Ability to manage priorities, maintain performance under pressure, and engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>About VTEK</p><p>A leader in engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM), VTEK delivers safe and sustainable solutions for the refining, petrochemical, mining, agrifood, and biofuel industries.</p><p></p>
