OpTalent is proud to be supporting a valued client in the nuclear power sector as they seek to add an Engineering Project Coordinator to their Ontario-based team for an 18-month term.

This role provides technical coordination and support across a range of engineering and project functions, including design, permitting, documentation, and reporting.

Working under minimal supervision, the successful candidate will ensure the timely delivery of project milestones while navigating the complexities of a highly regulated industry.

Note: This position falls within the Technical Coordinator job family, designed for individuals who may not hold a traditional engineering degree but who possess professional-level technical expertise in project coordination and engineering-related work.

Key Responsibilities


Depending on project needs and regulatory requirements, the Engineering Project Coordinator may be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and coordinating the development, documentation, and submission of project deliverables.
  • Interpreting schedules and identifying potential project conflicts; facilitating resolution through stakeholder meetings.
  • Assisting in the preparation of contracts, scopes of work, fee proposals, and invoices.
  • Supporting proposal development, presentation materials, and related marketing documentation.
  • Tracking and managing project submittals, actions, and communications.
  • Conducting technical analyses and preparing detailed studies or reports.
  • Reviewing technical reports and contributing to technical writing efforts.
  • Coordinating the efforts of consultants and internal teams during project execution.
  • Managing design production activities to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Overseeing CAD and other technical software-based deliverables.
  • Attending client and regulatory meetings to capture requirements and support strategic business development.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory policies and ensuring internal compliance.
  • Performing additional related duties as assigned by project leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Ongoing professional development through courses, seminars, and workshops relevant to the technical field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with project-specific tools, engineering software, and permitting processes.
  • 5-10 years of professional experience in engineering project delivery, ideally in the nuclear sector.
  • Familiarity with relevant nuclear codes and standards and experience working on nuclear project deliverables.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects under regulatory constraints.
