Help others shine too.</p><p><strong>About the Role:</strong></p><p>This position is a maternity leave coverage ending on October 31, 2026. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of child care programs, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. This role involves assisting supervising and coaching staff, maintaining compliance with licensing regulations, implementing curriculum standards, and fostering positive relationships with families and the community. The supervisor plays a key role in program planning, staff development, and quality assurance to support the overall success and growth of the child care center.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Support Director to ensure curriculum is consistently implemented across the center, with a focus on transitional times and programming that occurs outside of the center.</li><li>Coach and support educators through role modeling, upholding curriculum standards, and fostering an inclusive environment so they can meet expectations outlined in their job descriptions. </li><li>Complete Curriculum audits on each classroom quarterly with the Educator team; debrief with Director.</li><li>Supports, assists and mentors new Educators Work as an in-classroom mentor for new hires following the training manual, work with Director on training plan for all new Educators.</li><li>Implements approved curriculum designed to promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child, fostering a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.</li><li>Act as leadership to support community outings and field trips.</li><li>Maintains a safe and supportive environment by following YMCA <span >policies/procedures</span> and Provincial Licensing and Health regulations.</li><li>Supports Child Care Operations.</li><li>Work in ratio as an Educator, as required.</li><li>Supports other programs as required.</li><li>Perform the duties of Director when required due to Director absence.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum Level 2 or 3 Child Care Certification.</li><li>Standard or Child Care First Aid & CPR – C.</li><li>Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check.</li><li>Minimum 6 months of experience in a child care program or related field.</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Experience working with a tablet and Microsoft Office applications.</li></ul><p><strong>Why work for the YMCA?</strong></p><p>The YMCA of Northern Alberta is a charity that ignites the potential in people, helping them grow, lead, and give back to their communities.
