Program Manager (banking/etransfer)

Our client in the banking and payment sector is looking for a contract based Program Manager focused on their e-transfer services.

Duration: 6 months + 6 month extension


Location: hybrid 3d/week Toronto

Responsibilities


  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder requirements.
  • Define program scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders and team members.
  • Develop and maintain detailed program plans, including timelines, budgets, and tracking progress against milestones and KPIs.
  • Partner with Business Owners, Product Managers, and Product Owners to align program strategy, vision, and roadmaps with execution plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including internal and external stakeholders, to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and execution of initiatives.
  • Drive alignment, organizational readiness, and team preparedness for planning events and program milestones.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and manage dependencies that could affect program delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement of program management processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Provide regular updates, reports, and presentations to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and key external stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and innovation across program teams, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.


Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale, complex programs across various business functions.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Expertise in developing and managing detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, including executives and external partners.
  • Proven ability to proactively identify and solve problems, mitigate risks, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Extensive experience with program management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall) and project management tools (Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar).
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • PMP, PgMP, or other relevant project/program management certifications (preferred).
