<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Position Title: Program Director</p><p>Status: Excluded, Permanent, Full-Time</p><p>Reports to: Executive Director</p><p>Pay Grid: $87, $102</p><p><b>Active Care Youth and Adult Services (ACYAS)</b> is a progressive, innovative organization operating residential resources for youth and adults in British Columbia. It is our mandate to provide trauma-informed support services of exceptional quality in a home environment.</p><p><b>Job Summary</b></p><p>Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director is responsible for the oversight of several specialized resource homes. This includes providing support, coaching, training, and supervision to Program Managers, and implementing departmental plans aligned with the organizational strategic plan. The Program Director stays current with research and best practices in trauma-informed and person-centered approaches and guides Program Managers in incorporating innovative and new practices. The role collaborates with the Executive Team to develop evidence-based protocols, programs, training, procedures, and policy to ensure Program Managers have clear guidelines and support for day-to-day care. As a key member of the leadership team, the Program Director assesses and mitigates risk to reduce critical incidents with staff and clients, and ensures compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and agreements.</p><p><b>Primary Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Supervise and support Program Managers through coaching, mentoring, and applying progressive discipline as required.</li><li>Travel between regions to provide direct support programs and managers on a weekly basis.</li><li>Model and support self-care.</li><li>Be aware of the needs of Program Managers and respond accordingly.</li><li>Develop and support high-performing teams to fulfill ACYAS mission, vision, and values.</li><li>Oversee and review the development and implementation of client risk assessments and safety plans grounded in trauma-informed and person-centered philosophy, including restrictive practices.</li><li>Manage and mitigate risk associated with clients and resources.</li><li>Develop, implement, and monitor a trauma-informed service delivery framework to enhance ACYAS services.</li><li>Utilize data-driven analysis to measure and evaluate performance of clients, resources, critical incidents, health & safety, and overall programs.</li><li>Design procedures and strategies to meet client needs and program objectives.</li><li>Provide input into the strategic plan and ensure departmental plans align with the organization’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.</li><li>Provide oversight of department budgets and ensure fiscal responsibility within areas of responsibility.</li><li>Arrange and/or conduct individual or group training as required to enhance the skills of Program Managers or address skill deficits.</li><li>Participate in the development and lead the implementation of new initiatives.</li><li>Conduct ongoing research to enhance best practices aligned with ACYAS principles.</li><li>Develop community partnerships and participate on community committees to enhance the profile of ACYAS.</li><li>Participate in after-hours rotation as required.</li><li>All other duties as directed and required.</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Degree in the Social Services sector (Master’s preferred)</li><li>Registration with the appropriate provincial licensing body where applicable</li><li>Three (3) years of recent experience in a senior leadership role</li><li>Experience in a residential setting is considered an asset</li><li>Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check</li><li>Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driving abstract</li><li>Valid Level 1 First Aid</li></ul><p><b>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</b></p><ul><li>Uses a trauma-informed approach as best practice.</li><li>Strong understanding of youth and adults with substance use, mental health and developmental disabilities.</li><li>Ability to build collaborative professional relationships with a variety of community and organizational partners.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to apply evidence-informed knowledge, critical thinking, and professional judgment into practice.</li><li>Skilled in developing, supporting, and training a high-performing team.</li><li>Strong resilience, empathy, and resolution skills.</li><li>Ability to communicate concisely to a variety of stakeholders.</li></ul></p>Create Your Resume First
