Production Planner


About the Role

The Production Planner is a key role within Amir Group of Companies, responsible for developing and optimizing production schedules to ensure efficient and seamless operations.

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and cross-departmental coordination to balance customer demand, production capacity, and regulatory compliance. This role may be based at any of Amir Group of Companies’ locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and determine raw material, equipment, and labor requirements to support production goals and meet customer demands.
  • Develop and implement daily production schedules, factoring in customer requirements, processing capacity, labor, and material availability while ensuring compliance with product sequencing and cost optimization.
  • Generate and issue work orders to guide production activities, ensuring clear objectives and optimal resource allocation.
  • Review production schedules regularly (daily, weekly, and monthly) to ensure alignment with business priorities and operational requirements.
  • Track and compare actual yield against target expectations, analyzing variances to identify trends and inefficiencies, and making adjustments to improve forecasts and resource utilization.
  • Lead weekly production meetings to communicate schedule updates, resource planning, and process improvements, ensuring alignment across departments.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, dry ingredients, and packaging materials by tracking short-dated products, setting inventory limits, rotating stock, and maintaining real-time visibility of aged and work-in-progress (WIP) items to minimize waste and optimize utilization.
  • Collaborate with quality control, procurement, and other departments to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Analyze production gaps and utilize Plant Service Level (PSL) reports to provide insights and recommended actions for operational improvements.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies related to raw materials and finished products.
  • Prepare performance reports, track production progress, and address any issues that may impact production targets.
  • Provide occasional support and collaboration with other Amir locations as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Qualifications & Skills


  • Experience in production planning, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with different departments.
  • Proficiency in production planning software and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing production environments.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, operations, or a related field.
  • 3+ years in production planning in food processing, ideally in poultry or meat.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, inventory, and distribution processes.
  • Experience with production scheduling in FMCG environments is a plus.

Skills and Characteristics

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP software (Business Central or similar).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proactive, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ownership of tasks and effective time management.
