Reporting to the plant manager, the Production Manager will be involved in the planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing processes. You will ensure that goods and services are produced efficiently, with the correct amount produced at the right cost and level of quality. In this role, you will oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations, and leading our production team to meet goals in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn, adjust, calibrate, and test equipment tooling to ensure proper pressure, speed, temperature, and general operation.
- Work with team members, shift supervisors, and all necessary personnel to address complications as they arise.
- Involved in the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage.
- Ensure that production is cost-effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing budgets with both clients and managers.
- Supervise the production team to manage and execute production projects.
- Work with the team to plan, schedule, and perform production activities.
- Assign daily workload to team members.
- Develop production programs and guidelines to support company objectives.
- Schedule equipment maintenance and inspection on a regular basis.
- Suggest process improvements to enhance production quality and capacity.
- Organize job training for team members to achieve production goals.
- Investigate production issues and develop resolutions.
- Determine equipment, material, and manpower requirements for project execution.
- Recommend cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
- Assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluation, promotion, retention, and termination activities.
- Monitor production activities and adjust schedules for on-time delivery.
- Ensure that the final product meets quality standards and customer specifications.
- Ensure that the team follows company policies and safety standards.
- Exposure to a noisy environment.
- Overtime as required.
Is this job for you?
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Production Manager.
- Experience in the plastic extrusion related field is a must.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field is considered a strong asset.
- Organization and attention to detail are necessary for this role.
- Problem-solving abilities and conflict management skills.
- Leadership abilities, managing employees.
