Job Description
<p><p>As a member of the Production Engineering team, the Engineer, Production will provide technical oversight and support throughout the design, construction, testing / commissioning, and delivery of multiple classes of Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Coast Guard vessels.</p><h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Engineering degree</li>
<li>Minimum of 7+ years shipbuilding / ship design experience or related heavy manufacturing experience</li>
<li>Applied experience with exposure to hull/machinery/accommodation piping, electrical outfitting, and / or steel outfitting.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of Shipbuilding production, planning, material requirements, facility / resource capacity</li>
<li>Ability to navigate shipbuilding production drawings, PBOM, and 3D model required</li>
<li>Must have or eligible to obtain a Professional Engineering license in Nova Scotia and able to develop/approve engineered lift plans, production jig design, and supporting calculations</li>
<li>Proficiency with AutoCad (2D/3D), MS Office suite of software and Adobe Pro</li>
<li>Proficiency to execute practical lifting and product strength calculations using first principles, structural codes, and numerical methods</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in heavy lift engineering in industrial or manufacturing environments</li>
</ul>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Manage planned and emergent work within their assigned job scope.</li>
<li>Support the needs of internal & external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Originate routine or low complexity deliverables</li>
<li>Review technical products and deliverables developed by external stakeholders</li>
<li>Author processes & procedures documenting how recurring engineering support and deliverables in their assigned discipline are created.</li>
<li>Develop mitigation plans for risks associated with their engineering discipline and make risk-based technical decisions</li>
<li>Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement within their engineering discipline.</li>
