To learn more about us, visit lusbrands.comJob SummaryReporting to the Director of Research & Development, the Product Development Specialist will oversee all aspects of market research and project management for new product development, from ideation to execution.

As an individual with strong research, analytical and project management skills, you will play a key role in future product innovations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about the beauty/hair care industry.ResponsibilitiesProject Management:Manage, Develop and execute detailed project plans for new product development pipeline, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Assist in creating and maintaining a new product development pipeline and new product launch roadmap. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Identify and resolve resource bottlenecks or challenges that may impact project timelines. Market Research and Ideation: Manage and coordinate all aspects of the market research process for new product development from conceptualization to design, analysis and interpretation of results.Conduct comparative research on competitor strategies using primary and secondary research methods.Stay apprised of the emergence of new and existing competitors/brands, including their products and marketing tactics.Research industry trends, consumer trends, developments and emerging technologies, including new ingredientsHighlighting opportunities for new products, line extensions, and current product updatesKeep track of customer needs and challenges to fuel new product development by demonstrating a keen understanding of the LUS customer.Monitor and analyze new competitor products and patentsAnalyze consumer behaviour, preferences, and purchasing patterns to inform product development and marketing strategies.Other:Determine the best approach concerning data sources and usage, tools for methodology, testing and presentation.Manage customer feedback and conduct surveys to help improve the customer experience and buying habits of customers.Interpret data, formulate reports, and make recommendations for management through impactful storytelling.Collect and maintain feedback on new product prototypes from internal and third-party testers.Assist with Product Development and R&D activities as assignedRequirementsBachelor’s degree in market research, marketing, business, project management, or a similar discipline3+ years experience in market research and/or analytics related to the beauty industry3+ years of project management experienceStrong communication, presentation and writing skills with an ability to analyze and synthesize information from a variety of sources into insights and market trendsIn-depth knowledge of project management tools, principles and methodologies2+ years experience with problem-solving data/trends and summarizing insights that are easily consumable by a wide range of audiencesTech and digital savvy with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills (MS Office, G-Suite is a great asset)Strong ability to work as part of a diverse teamA passion and comprehensive expertise in the hair care sector, with a distinct focus on textured hair care.Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.Familiar with consumer data trends as well as their application to business solutions.Strong acumen in applying research to address business challengesThis position is in-office.
