Our client, an early-stage and mission-driven climate-tech startup, is seeking a Product Designer to lead the design of its flagship SaaS platform. They currently have a static dashboard so this person will be building a new product 0-1 so that it integrates and updates automatically.

This is a high-impact, foundational opportunity for a designer who is excited to help shape the experience of a first-of-its-kind product. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership, product, and engineering teams to build intuitive and scalable solutions for a highly technical and data-rich problem space.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead user research efforts, identifying gaps and designing research plans using appropriate methodologies.
- Own end-to-end UX/UI design for a complex new SaaS platform, including jobs-to-be-done definition, information architecture, and interaction flows.
- Create and iterate on artifacts such as wireframes, journey maps, user flows, and interactive prototypes.
- Apply user research findings to validate design decisions and improve product usability.
- Work closely with product managers and engineers to turn concepts into buildable solutions, delivering clear specs and documentation.
- Leverage and evolve a design system (e.g., Material UI or HIG) to ensure a consistent, accessible user experience.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to align design execution with roadmap priorities.
Candidate Requirements:
- Comfortable operating independently and owning the full design lifecycle (very autonomous role)
- Curious and user-obsessed; proactively asks questions and seeks to understand.
- Thrives in undefined environments where experimentation and agility are key.
- Strong research capabilities across qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex systems into clear, user-friendly interfaces.
- Confident working with product and engineering to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility.
- Comfortable designing for data-rich applications and crafting clear visual narratives.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Product Designer within early- or mid-stage SaaS companies.
- Proficient with modern design tools and able to produce high-fidelity prototypes.
- Proven ability to ship successful digital products in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Location & Working Model
- Candidates must be located in Toronto.
