Duties include scheduling, designing, delivering, recommending and evaluating training programs and course participants for clients within Ontario and, at times, nationally and internationally, reporting to the Manager, Powerline Apprenticeship and Training.</p><h3>Details</h3><p><b>Residence & location</b>: Remote work; residence within 100 kilometres of 5345 Creekbank Road, Mississauga, ON L4W 5L5 is a condition of employment.</p><p><b>Number of vacancies</b>: 1</p><p><b>Salary</b>: $119,250.06 – $140,260.23</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Deliver and facilitate health and safety programs and presentations that comply with current federal and provincial legislation and support IHSA policies and objectives to diverse audiences. Act as an expert in high-risk work activities (e.g., overhead/underground power lines, mobile crane operation, electrical power meters).</li><li>Consult and coordinate with stakeholders, management, trade sectors, colleges, industry suppliers and employer associations to assess training needs via a gap analysis; design customized programs; schedule delivery; and maintain participant reports.</li><li>Maintain knowledge of legislation and policies; update training materials as requested.</li><li>Prepare, present and facilitate technical papers for workshops and events.</li><li>Research information for articles and educational materials; participate in investigations as requested.</li><li>Coordinate scheduling and delivery of materials at customer facilities; manage Apprenticeship Program logistics.</li><li>Convey updated information for training materials and identify customer needs.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Post-secondary education and 10+ years of journeyperson experience required.</li><li>Skilled trade designation; Journeyperson Powerline Technician required.</li><li>DZ or AZ license; qualified 0-8 ton mobile crane operator and/or Branch 2 Certified Hoisting Engineer – 339C; UWPC, First Aid, CPR/AED required.</li><li>Working at Heights certification required.</li><li>Barehand, JH&SC certification and CRSP designation preferred.</li><li>Frontline supervisory experience and knowledge of program development and adult training preferred.</li><li>Ability to obtain Interprovincial Red Seal designation preferred.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of health and safety management systems and current provincial/federal legislation.</li><li>Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office suite.</li><li>Minimum 75% interview score required for consideration.</li></ul><h3>Application details</h3><p><b>Closing date</b>: September 19, 2025</p><p>IHSA is committed to a diverse, inclusive workforce and will provide accommodations for applicants with disabilities during the assessment, selection and recruitment process.
