Summary


EDGE Marine is looking for a Plant Worker at our main treatment facility in Dartmouth.

This position will have the applicant safely working with a team in sorting and treating waste generated by marine vessels and assisting with warehouse duties as required. The candidate is organized, can prioritize work, and is comfortable working in an industrial setting. The position does involve physical activity (reaching, bending, lifting etc.).

Duties & Responsibilities
Sorting & Treatment of all waste streams delivered to the site on behalf of 3rd party contractors
Full use of the Hydroclave/Berm Area for the treatment of International Waste
Maintaining the yard (outdoor area) in an organized and professional manor (Cleanliness, organization, flow of materials)
Loading/Unloading material or containers from trucks and/or fleet vehicles
Sorting/Packaging/Palletizing waste streams for efficient removal and/or disposal via 3rd party contractors
Administrative rolls such as: manifesting waste received from 3rd party contractors, treatment verification and records
Complete Driving / Warehouse tasks within other lines of business as required
Local pick up and deliveries in company truck
Ability to adapt to scheduling/project requirements when needed
Ensure all site safety measures and PPE followed
Flexibility in working hours: night and weekend shifts when required

Qualifications
Experience in waste management and/or marine environments an asset
Must be able to speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, instructions, signs, signals, and safety training.
Class 5 license required
Boom truck experience an asset
Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check
Willing to work in all weather conditions
