Located in Windsor, Ontario, they operate a state-of-the-art facility with approximately 15 dedicated employees. They have a strong commitment to producing high-quality food products which has driven their expansion, and they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead their facility and take operations to the next level.

Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Plant Manager of Operations with food manufacturing experience to oversee the daily operations of our Windsor facility. The Plant Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of production, including quality control, sanitation workforce management, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives as they lead the production, warehousing, and delivery team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the food industry and a strong ability to lead teams, enhance operational efficiency, and drive growth.

Key Responsibilities: Oversee the daily scheduling and workflow of production from receiving raw good and other materials through shipment of finished goods. Build on the current positive culture to foster safety, quality, employee engagement and drive continuous improvements. Recruit, interview, hire and train staff in the production department on job duties, safety procedures and company policies.

Mange a diverse workforce which includes new-to-Canada workers and individuals that speak English as a second language. Ability to drive safety and safe behaviours while maintaining the goal of preventing all injuries. Manage employee’s performance, providing timely feedback to staff.

Lead the development of current and future team members, including orientation, training, performance feedback, promotions, and discipline in accordance with company policy. Be a key part of the business leadership team. Ensure product is produced efficiently and consistently every day while enhancing existing processes and procedures.

Direct production activities (production, safety, quality, and efficiency) and optimize production and utilization of labour and equipment, etc. Coordinate production activities with purchasing professionals Drive key performance indicators. Troubleshoot equipment problems.

Assist in setting operations budgets, making recommendations on changes or investments to improve productivity and product quality. Oversee plant cleaning, sanitation, pest control and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) compliance, training and schedule. Maintain quality and sanitation standards.

Implement (with the assistance of other personnel) effective preventative maintenance programs and schedules. Lead the company’s efforts to achieve SQF certification in coordination with quality professional (or other similar quality standard). Oversee Cleaning-In-Place systems.

Manage delivery staff and schedule to ensure timely delivery of shipments. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Food Science, Business Administration, Agriculture, Engineering or another industry-related field preferred. 7-10 years of manufacturing-related experience including three years in a supervisory position required. Continuous improvement experience i.e. (LEAN/Six Sigma/TMM) is preferred.

Specific experience in Food Manufacturing. Strong understanding of food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP, etc.) and experience ensuring compliance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong supervisory and leadership skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
