Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting disciplines, including residential, commercial, restoration, and industrial painting. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paints and coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes on diverse projects. The Painter will work closely with project managers and clients to deliver exceptional results while adhering to safety standards and project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools and power tools with precision and attention to detail
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine project scope and specifications
- Utilize rigging techniques for elevated or hard-to-reach areas safely
- Perform restoration work on damaged or aged surfaces to restore their original appearance
- Use carpentry skills for minor repairs or modifications needed before painting
- Manage time effectively to complete projects within scheduled deadlines
- Maintain a clean work environment and properly store tools and materials
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure project requirements are met
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction plans
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, and rigging equipment
- Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques including sanding and caulking
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Good time management skills to handle multiple projects efficiently
- Experience in restoration work is a plus
- Construction background or carpentry skills are desirable but not mandatory
- Customer service orientation with a professional attitude
