Salary: $34.25 hourly / 30 to 35 hours per Week Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full-time Day, Evening, Morning, Weekend Starts: As soon as possible Vacancies: 1 Vacancy Languages: English Education:- College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 2 years to 3 years in – Opticianry/ophthalmic dispensing optician, OR – Optics/optical sciences Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years Workplace information: On-site Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. Work setting: Optical retail store Responsibilities Tasks:- Analyze the clients eyeglasses or contact lenses and by measuring the clients eye curvature, pupillary distance and bridge width, using optical measuring devices; Obtain specifications for eyeglasses and contact lenses from a prescription prepared by an ophthalmologist or optometrist; Assist clients in selecting eyeglasses; Advise on the use and care of contact lenses; Arrange for grinding or polishing of lenses or grind and polish lenses; Cut and edge lenses and fit lenses into frames; Adjust finished eyeglasses to fit the client.
