<h3>Job description</h3>
<p>We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented <b>OT Connectivity Specialist</b> to join our team in <b>Whitby</b>. In this role, you will support and improve Operational Technology (OT) systems in a <b>regulated manufacturing environment</b>, collaborating closely with IT, Automation/Engineering, and Quality teams.</p>
<p>You will design, integrate, and sustain reliable and secure industrial connectivity aligned with <b>ISA-95/Purdue</b> and <b>GAMP</b> principles. This position is ideal for a hands‑on professional who thrives on solving complex connectivity challenges, ensuring system reliability, and promoting best practices in cybersecurity and data integrity.</p>
<h3><b>Key Responsibilities</b></h3>
<ul>
<li>Implement and sustain OT network segments and data flows across <b>ISA‑95 levels</b>, including defining rules/changes and coordinating with Networking and Security teams (segmentation, firewalls, VLANs).</li>
<li>Facilitate secure integrations between <b>shop‑floor systems</b> and enterprise platforms (e.g., MES/EBR, LIMS), supporting <b>OPC UA–based connectivity</b> and data transfer needs.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot OT connectivity and system issues end‑to‑end (from device to switch to server/application), ensuring timely resolution with vendors and internal teams.</li>
<li>Maintain up‑to‑date <b>network and data‑flow diagrams, access control lists, and change records</b>, contributing to SOPs and as‑built documentation.</li>
<li>Follow site processes for <b>demand intake, architecture reviews, change control</b>, and <b>validation support</b> in line with GxP and risk‑based methodologies.</li>
<li>Support <b>lifecycle and obsolescence planning</b>, CMDB accuracy, and risk mitigation activities for upgrades and new implementations.</li>
<li>Promote <b>secure‑by‑design</b> practices and coordinate patching/maintenance windows with CIS/Security, Automation, and Operations teams.</li>
</ul>
<h3><b>Requirements</b></h3>
<p><b>Qualifications</b></p>
<ul>
<li>3+ years of experience in <b>OT/industrial IT or control systems support</b> within a regulated manufacturing environment (pharma/GMP preferred).</li>
<li>Solid understanding of <b>OT networking principles</b> (segmentation, VLANs, firewalls/ACLs, ports/protocols) and fundamentals of <b>Windows/AD/virtualization</b>.</li>
<li>Familiarity with <b>ISA‑95/Purdue models</b>, <b>GAMP</b>, <b>21 CFR Part 11</b>, <b>ALCOA+</b>, and validation/change control concepts.</li>
<li>Practical experience with <b>industrial connectivity</b> (e.g., OPC UA, data collectors/gateways) and system/data‑flow documentation.</li>
<li>Strong troubleshooting, incident coordination, and vendor management skills, with excellent communication abilities (written and verbal).</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Preferred Skills</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of laboratory systems and analytical platforms (LAC/E, FTIR, CDS, Raman, or similar).</li>
<li>Exposure to <b>MES/EBR/LIMS integrations</b>, serialization, thin‑client environments, and OT monitoring tools (e.g., anomaly detection).</li>
<li>Experience with <b>integration platforms</b> (e.g., Kepware) and basic understanding of <b>PLC/HMI/SCADA</b> operations.</li>
<li>Familiarity with <b>virtualization, backup concepts, and CMDB/asset inventory maintenance</b> for OT systems.</li>
<li>Previous involvement in <b>IQ/OQ/PQ</b> activities from an infrastructure or connectivity perspective.</li>
