Position Overview<br><br>
The Night Auditor/Guest Services is the overnight anchor of The Como. You ensure the hotel remains secure, guest needs are supported and all daily financial and operational systems roll over accurately into the next business day.<br><br>
This role blends elements of Security, Light Maintenance, Front Office and Guest Support. It requires a calm, detail-oriented professional who is confident working independently while upholding The Como's design-forward, guest-centric ethos.<br><br>
Working closely with the General Manager and Guest Services team, the Night Auditor ensures every overnight interaction—whether a late arrival, system update, or safety check—is handled with precision, care, and quiet confidence.<br><br>
This is an onsite, full-time overnight role.<br><br>
Core Responsibilities<br><br>Front Office & Guest Services<ul><li>Support late arrivals, early departures, and guest inquiries after regular service hours.<br><br></li><li>Respond promptly to guest messages through Whistle, Operto, and Cloudbeds.<br><br></li><li>Provide clear guidance for check-ins, access issues, and general overnight guest needs.<br><br></li><li>Maintain a warm and professional presence in the lobby and common areas.<br><br></li><li>Assist with basic Bell duties (luggage support, delivering items, guest escorts).<br><br></li><li>Keep front-of-house spaces tidy, secure, and ready for the morning shift.<br><br></li></ul>
Reservations & Systems<ul><li>Review and verify end-of-day reservation activity in Cloudbeds.<br><br></li><li>Ensure accuracy in rates, room assignments, cancellations, no-shows, and guest profiles.<br><br></li><li>Reconcile reservation discrepancies and communicate variances to the morning team.<br><br></li><li>Support OTA + direct booking accuracy by reviewing arrivals and modifications.<br><br></li><li>Run required end-of-day procedures in Cloudbeds.<br><br></li></ul>
Financial Night Audit<ul><li>Complete nightly audit procedures, balancing daily revenue and verifying payment postings.<br><br></li><li>Prepare reconciliation reports for management and address irregularities.<br><br></li><li>Confirm charges, adjustments, and folio activity are accurate and properly documented.<br><br></li></ul>
Security & Safety<ul><li>Conduct routine property walkthroughs to ensure the building is secure.<br><br></li><li>Monitor cameras, access logs, and alarm notifications.<br><br></li><li>Act as the primary onsite contact during emergencies, following protocol with calm judgment.<br><br></li><li>Support guest and property safety through awareness, discretion, and professionalism.<br><br></li></ul>
Light Maintenance & Operations Support<ul><li>Address simple overnight maintenance issues (battery replacements, resets, basic troubleshooting).<br><br></li><li>Document maintenance requests requiring escalation and prepare clear notes for staff.<br><br></li><li>Assist with overnight resets and morning preparation tasks, including supply checks and logs.<br><br></li></ul>
Administrative & Reporting Excellence
<ul><li>Prepare nightly log entries and handover documents for seamless morning continuity.<br><br></li><li>Complete small administrative tasks that support Operations and Guest Services.<br><br></li></ul>
Requirements<ul><li>Previous experience in hospitality, front desk, or night audit roles—ideally in boutique/lifestyle hotels.<br><br></li><li>Strong understanding of hotel operations and guest-centric principles.<br><br></li><li>Familiarity with Cloudbeds is an asset; training provided.<br><br></li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word).<br><br></li><li>Legally authorized to work in Canada for at least two years from date of hire.<br><br></li><li>Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends and holidays.<br><br></li><li>Calm, reliable, and confident working independently.<br><br></li><li>Strong judgment, attention to detail and clear communication.<br><br></li></ul>
