<p>Municipal Engineering Technologist</p><p>Burns Maendel Consulting Engineers Ltd. (BMCE) is seeking a<br>Municipal Engineering Technologist<br>for immediate employment in Brandon, MB, within the Municipal Department. As a contributing member of our Engineering design team, you will enjoy a fast paced, friendly environment that is collaborative and energized to deliver design solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner. Self-motivation, teamwork, and the ability to work within time constraints are essential to this position.</p><p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p><p>· Working as part of a team within the BMCE Municipal Department</p><p>· Works closely with Project Engineer to determine required drawings and specifications for projects</p><p>· Reviews rough sketches, drawings, buildings, specifications, and other engineering data</p><p>· Performs necessary calculations and assists in the design process to complete projects</p><p>· Perform field surveys to gather information for topographical mapping, cross-sections, controls, and rights-of- way for plan and specification preparation</p><p>· Assists in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photos on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics</p><p>· Utilize AutoCAD Civil3D daily to complete detailed design drawings for small and large design projects as assigned by the Project Engineer</p><p>· Collaborates with Project Engineer modifies drawings as necessary</p><p>· Prepares design computations and quantity estimates</p><p>· Follows budgets and timelines set by Project Manager</p><p>· Provides technical support to other staff in area of expertise</p><p>· Liaisons with clients, contractors and suppliers as required</p><p>· Research project related items as requested by the Project Engineer and report findings</p><p>· Visits construction sites to monitor progress and other duties per contract documents</p><p>· Perform other duties as assigned</p><p>Qualifications and Requirements:</p><p>· Clear written and oral communication skills</p><p>· Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel</p><p>· Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills</p><p>· Ability to work effectively on a team</p><p>· Well-developed time management and personal organizational skills</p><p>· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions</p><p>· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables</p><p>· Valid Driver's License</p><p>Required Education and Experience:</p><p>· Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology with specialty in Municipal</p><p>· Must have experience or training with Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite software, including AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil3D.</p><p>· years relevant work experience would be an asset.</p><p>· Current designation as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or ability to register as such with Certified Technicians & Technologists of Manitoba (CTTAM).</p><p>Position Duration:<br>Permanent Full Time</p><p>Location<br>: Brandon, MB</p><p>Rate of Pay:<br>The successful candidate will be remunerated based on their skills and experience.</p><p>Closing Date:<br>Once suitable candidate is selected.</p><p>Applicants should submit a cover letter, their transcripts and resume with 3 references to:</p><p> and reference "<br>Municipal Engineering Technologist Position"<br>in the subject line.</p><p><em>*We thank all who apply, but only those considered for an interview will be contacted.</em></p>
