Role overview:

The Security Engineer is responsible for:

  • Contributing to the stability of production systems and ensuring the sustainability of security controls.
  • Performing security analysis activities within their domain of expertise.
  • Leading the architecture and engineering of security solutions within their area of responsibility.

Scope and Expertise:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in deploying and managing Endpoint/Malware Protection technologies.
  • In-depth expertise in Endpoint Protection and Malware Protection technologies such as Trellix, McAfee, Tanium, and BeyondTrust.
  • Experience in managing and governing security projects and programs.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level support for the processes and tools under the scope of the security solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT architects and teams to integrate security capabilities into IT solutions, services, and tools.
  • Create, maintain, and ensure adherence to security policies, procedures, technical baselines, guidelines, and control standards.
  • Evaluate, design, develop, deploy, test, and transition security solutions, processes, and tools.
  • Manage associated projects to support the entire lifecycle of the security solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation related to the engineering and architecture of security solutions.
  • Leverage various security domains to ensure protective measures are well-aligned, effective, and interact seamlessly with other system components.
  • Participate in both internal and external audits.

Additional Contributions:


  • Manage a portfolio of security projects or programs.
  • Perform administrative controls and reporting tasks.
  • Support service delivery management activities related to security solutions.

Professional Knowledge:

  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in technology, including at least 5+ years focused on security.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining tools, procedures, and documentation.
  • Solid understanding of security technologies, methods, and concepts.
  • Ability to communicate complex security solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Security certifications and team leadership experience are beneficial.

Position Details and Requirements:

  • 50% remote work; residence in Montreal required
  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in French is a plus
