Overview
The Security Architect/Engineer will be responsible for:
- Leading the architecture and engineering of security solutions in their area of responsibility.
- Contributing to production stability and control sustainability within their scope.
- Performing security analysis activities within their area of expertise.
Scope and Expertise
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in deploying and managing Data Security/Protection technologies
- In-depth expertise in Data Security/Protection technologies such as Thales CipherTrust Manager, Symantec DLP, Varonis, or IBM Guardium..
- Experience in governing Data Security/Protection projects or programs.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.
Main Activities
As a Security Engineer, responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with IT architects and other teams to design security capabilities within IT solutions (services, processes, and tools).
- Creating and maintaining security policies, procedures, technical baselines, guidelines, and control standards.
- Evaluating, designing, developing, deploying, testing, and transitioning security solutions, processes, and tools.
- Managing associated projects to support these lifecycles.
- Delivering and maintaining technical documentation related to the engineering and architecture of security solutions.
- Providing expert support for security solution processes and tools.
- Ensuring protective measures are appropriate, effective, and interact well with other system capabilities.
- Participating in both internal and external audits.
Professional Knowledge
- At least 10+ years of professional experience in technology, with at least 5+ years in security.
- Experience in developing and maintaining tools, procedures, and documentation.
- Strong understanding of security technologies and concepts.
- Ability to present complex solutions to a general audience.
- Security certifications and team leadership experience are considered assets.
Position Details and Requirements:
- 50% remote work; residence in Montreal required
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in French is a plus
