<p><b>Location:</b></p><ul><li>Toronto, Ontario (preferred)</li><li>Ottawa, Ontario</li><li>Atlanta, Georgia</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>FOUNDED IN 1992, NANOWAVE TECHNOLOGIES INC.</b> is a vertically integrated designer and manufacturer of RF sensing and communications hardware.</p><p>The Nanowave group has more than <b>6,000 communications and SAR payload assemblies</b> in orbit and more than <b>30,000 RF avionics assemblies</b> on commercial and defense aerospace platforms.</p><p>Customers include many of the major space, aerospace, and defense OEMs in both the <b>US and Europe</b>.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Advancement at Nanowave</b> is dependent on two main factors:</p><ul><li>A person's in-depth knowledge of their subject area</li><li>The ability and willingness to work as a member of a diverse team of professionals to meet the company's commitments to customers</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>About the Role:</b></p><p>We are looking for a candidate who can lead and execute mechanical projects and work in areas of advanced microwave, millimeter wave, and opto-electronic components and subsystems.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><p><br></p><p><b>Product Design & Development</b></p><ul><li>Analyze, design, develop, and maintain products; assist in commercialization.</li><li>Contribute to design standards and support design reuse.</li><li>Evaluate engineering approaches and risks to produce and iterate development plans</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Requirements & Usability</b></p><ul><li>Assist in identifying and organizing requirements. Apply usability procedures and principles at project or product-line level or through customer input.</li><li>Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, codes, and other artifacts.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Prototyping & Testing</b></p><ul><li>Build prototypes, products, and systems for testing; set up and run laboratory simulations.</li><li>Design testing procedures and coordinate testing. Conduct tests, document results, and develop client presentation.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Innovation & Continuous Improvement</b></p><ul><li>Identify and keep abreast of novel technical concepts and markets.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Leadership, Engineering Execution & Support</b></p><ul><li>Provide overall project leadership from the proposal phase to the delivery of qualified products to the customer, including but not limited to, technical, cost, and schedule.</li><li>Implement best-in-class structural and thermal design principles, processes, and tools across the organization.</li><li>Support, train, mentor and coach other team members and operators in best-in-class electronic packaging, process development, manufacturing and test of electronic equipment for space, aerospace, defence, medical, and other applications.</li><li>Mechanical design, component selection, and analysis activities including structural, thermal, mechanism performance.</li><li>Manufacturing and testing of subsystems, assemblies and components, and investigation of problems/failures during assembly, integration, and test.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Key Qualifications:</b></p><p><br></p><p>Technical Expertise</p><ul><li>Must possess strong systems and mechanical engineering analytical and design skills.</li><li>Experience in design and manufacturing for aerospace and space systems is a pre-requisite.</li><li>Extensive understanding and wide application of advanced principles, theories, concepts and techniques in solving mechanical engineering problems, developing requirements, performing trade studies, designing piece-parts and mechanical assemblies, and providing oversight to the fabrication, assembly, test, and qualification of specified hardware.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Education & Experience</p><ul><li>Minimum - Masters/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related technical discipline with typically 4-5 years of related experience.</li><li>Must be capable of leading and managing small to mid-size multi-disciplinary teams and have strong verbal and written English communication skills.</li><li>All candidates must be able to obtain both CGP and ITAR clearance.</li><li>Project management experience in leading the scoping, costing, and scheduling of engineering products.</li><li>Proven leadership skills and the ability to direct daily activities of a medium sized team.</li><li>Good communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal, negotiation and organizational skills.</li></ul>Create Your Resume First
