Base salary is determined by a combination of factors, but not limited to education, training, years of experience and internal equity.


Opportunity Summary

Reporting to the Project Manager, you'll be a key member of a collaborative team, driving creative solutions for clients and stakeholders alike. You'll specifically support a large institutional project, focusing on its mechanical and electrical components. Your role will be to support the seamless integration and successful execution of all M&E systems from planning to the execution of the mechanical and electrical scopes.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Support the project team in planning and coordinating on-site M&E activities.
  • Effectively update M&E schedule, proactively manage RFIs, shop drawings, and project completion documents through strong organizational practices.
  • Support the review of the monthly M&E progress draws.
  • Prepare the M&E change orders.
  • Manage M&E related procurements in conjunction with other team members.
  • Facilitate M&E coordination and interference resolution with the appropriate trades.
  • Keep drawings and specifications updated with the latest contractual documentation.
  • Assist in chairing coordination meetings related to M&E subtrades.
  • Coordinate the installation, testing & commissioning of fire, life and safety systems.
  • Track & obtain pricing for the CCNs, Sis, and collate as one package for submission to client/consultants for approval.
  • QA/QC related to M&E installations.
  • Provide high level support to the trades, commissionary agent, and third parties.
  • Compile documentation as related to occupancy as well as closeout and client turnover
  • Follow up and track all M&E deficiencies.


Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Construction Management or an Engineering-related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Project Coordinator, with a strong focus on institutional or hospital/medical projects.
  • Strong understanding of M&E system documentation, including drawings, contract administration, document management, scheduling software, and change order procedures.
  • In-depth understanding of construction drawings, specifications, methods, and procedures for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written-along with effective organizational abilities and a knack for problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and a track record of integrity when working with clients, trades, and consultants.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Outlook, BIM, Navisworks, Revit, Clash Detection, Procore experience is a definite asset.
  • Experience using MS Project or other project management software to effectively manage project timelines or resources.
