Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor, this position is responsible for actively participating in our Distribution Team to reach daily production targets.</p><p>This recruitment post is for<strong> </strong>full-time role based at our Edmonton Yard located at 3355 8 Street, Nisku, Alberta T9E 8T3 . The incumbent shall be on Evening / Night shift schedule from 6:00 PM - 2:30 AM.</p><p><strong>Roles and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Perform cross dock duties by offloading product from inbound trailers and loading it into outbound trailers for customer deliveries manually as well as using electric pallet jacks / forklift, as needed</li><li>Efficiently build skids of product to meet required targets for delivery</li><li>Removes damaged product and stretch wrap from skids</li><li>Sweeps trailers prior to loading product</li><li>Performing general cleaning duties to maintain a clean and safe environment</li><li>Advises the leadership of any operational inconsistencies or problems </li><li>Participating in continuous improvement activities</li><li>Ensuring food safety and food defense standards are followed</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><strong>Required Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>1+ years of experience in a fast-paced and physically demanding job is preferred</li><li>Experience using a Powered Pallet Truck is an asset</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs</li><li>Ability to work in ambient (room temperature) as well as freezer (approx. -20 degree Celsius) zones </li><li>Correctable vision</li><li>Proven track record of safety and reliability</li><li>Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to read and follow written instructions</li><li>Willingness to participate in ongoing development and to be cross-trained in various areas of Distribution</li><li>Communication both oral and written</li></ul><p><strong>What do we offer: </strong></p><ul><li>Starting hourly rate of<strong> </strong>$27.08 with progressive increases over 3 years (not including<strong> </strong>applicable premium(s))</li><li>Annual Performance Bonus</li><li>Immediate company paid Benefits for you and your family</li><li>3 weeks paid vacation every year</li><li>Pension Plan with Company Contributions</li><li>Employee Product Purchase Program</li><li>Fitness subsidy</li><li>Annual safety boot allowance</li><li>Annual uniform allotment</li><li>Comprehensive paid training and ongoing support</li></ul></p></p>Create Your Resume First
