The Institute for Sustainable Finance (ISF) was established on November 19, 2019 with a mandate to align mainstream financial markets with Canada’s transition to a prosperous low-carbon economy. Since then, it has become a respected thought leader and collaborator in this space.

ISF implements its mission through a three-pronged strategy of research, education, and collaboration between business, government, and academia. ISF is a dynamic and forward-thinking organization associated with Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.

ISF is currently seeking an exceptional individual to take the organization to its next level of impact. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader and visionary who can lead ISF to grow its output, stakeholder engagement, and research production as well as transition it to an independent, stable, long-term, self-funding entity.

The Director will have a unique chance to design and build out a new strategic direction, including an operational structure, programs, and a funding model for ISF. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the Institute’s long-term strategy and build out Canada’s national capacity in sustainable finance. The Director will work collaboratively across several stakeholders and will be a leading voice for progress in sustainable finance.

The Managing Director will oversee multiple relationships including the school of business, ISF Governance and Advisory Boards of senior sector leaders from industry, government, academia and beyond.

This position can be based in the Toronto, Ottawa, or Kingston regions, and will require the ability to travel those locations as well as nationally and internationally as needed.
