As a Manager – Building Information within our Facilities Management Department, you will be responsible for overseeing and management of all facilities building asset information and records. Facilitates the implementation and maintenance of master set record drawings and as-built information for all Peel Police buildings. Oversees the implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology to enhance building records and access to as-built information.

Responsibility of the overall facilities asset management program including the management of the database, lifecycle analysis and renewals planning.  What will your typical day look like?. Directs and manages a team of trained engineering professionals specifically dedicated to the creation and maintenance of master set archive; this will include all as-built data for all facilities CAD drawings, BIM models, specifications and other information as required. Oversees the implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology and software including the creating, editing, and maintaining BIM models of existing PRP facilities, importing of as-built BIM models provided by contractors and scanning of existing facilities to create models.

Provides accurate building information (master set drawings, existing product data, infrastructure routing etc.) to the operations, planning, design and construction (PDC), capital revitalization and security teams. Ensures complete and accurate close-out documents, as-builts and BIM models are delivered by the project teams for all facilities projects. Collaborates with project teams to ensure deliverables are understood and communicated clearly to contractors and consultants.

Directs and manages a team of trained professionals responsible for the overall facilities asset management program; this includes the asset management database, life cycle analysis and overall renewals planning in conjunction with the capital revitalization and PDC teams. Oversees the implementation of the asset management solution inclusive of data migration, workflow mapping and process integration.  Manages and oversees the maintenance of the facilities asset management database and reporting to the Region of Peel’s asset management team. Ensures that life cycles of existing building assets are reviewed and tracked.

Ensures accurate reporting on the condition of all Peel Regional Police buildings and related infrastructure to the Director Facilities Management and the Region of Peel. Manages the overall process of conducting building and furniture condition assessments for all required building infrastructure assets at the required intervals. Reports the condition of all building infrastructure assets to the Director, Facilities Management and capital revitalization team to support the development of capital renewal planning.

Develops policies, procedures and/or action plans on issues that relate to building information and asset management. Establishes and enforces BIM and asset information standards for all project deliverables; provides quality assurance to ensure consultant and contractor compliance with organizational requirements. Leads the establishment of the new BIM team, including developing position profiles, outlining clear roles and responsibilities and collaborating with Human Resources and Recruiting to attract and hire qualified candidates.

Provides technical and professional advice to the Executive to assist with the decision-making process. Performs additional duties as assigned. Enough about us, lets talk about you   You are someone with: A University Degree in Engineering, Architectural Sciences or equivalent or an equivalent combination of education or experience.

Certification(s) in BIM and/or Asset Management an asset. A minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience overseeing a team of professional technical and engineering staff. Demonstrated relevant experience in the development of organizational master set archives.

Demonstrated relevant experience in building asset management. Demonstrated planning, time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) software and technologies.

Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated written communication skills. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated strategic thinking and a broad awareness of current trends and developments in related fields. A valid Ontario Driver’s Licence (Class G) with full driving privileges. What we offer The salary range for this permanent, full-time position is $157,516 to 186,526 and is complemented with a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance; and the OMERS Pension Plan effective upon hire.
