NARROWED COMPANY OVERVIEW:

This role is based at our Sealed Air Canada head office and manufacturing facility located in Brampton, ON. The Brampton plant is home of 41 employees.

Our location produces lightweight foam, Jiffy mailers, Bubble Wrap products, and other protective packaging products. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance activities related to Production and Facilities. Is responsible for maintenance systems, overseeing continuous improvement of the manufacturing process and executing long-term strategic plans. Leads the maintenance personnel and works to improve their skill sets and standard work required to achieve the department goals.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Oversee and monitor daily shift maintenance activities to provide service levels that meet customer needs and standards; assist in troubleshooting maintenance, process, and product issues; address issues appropriately, advise of employee issues that may require attention
  • Responsible for creating purchase orders for parts and services in the corporate purchase system. Follow up of issues that could come up with orders and the corresponding payments.
  • Design, implement and administer preventative and predictive maintenance plans; lead department improvement initiatives; and, coordinate the achievement of standards and provide feedback on shift performance
  • Coordinate work performed by outside vendors; ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates; prioritize the maintenance and repairs of equipment and parts
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with production management and production workers concerning machine overhauls and maintenance/improvement projects
  • Assist in communicating and coordination of training; schedule, train, supervise and motivate employees in the maintenance department
  • Administer current programs assuring the health and safety of employees and meet Occupational Health and Safety requirements; uphold plant & department safety rules; monitor employee behaviour and work practices; address unsafe acts, conditions and violations; perform safety, behavioral, and housekeeping audits as required
  • Responsible for site security; alarm security system and access card system
  • Responsible for the plant compliance with environmental standards and regulations
  • Supports the Safety Coordinator with the review, audit and development of safety procedures and documents

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year degree, preferably in Engineering
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated safety commitment
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • 3+ years managerial experience leading a maintenance team preferred
  • Proficient in Process and Instrumentation diagrams, electrical schematics, mechanical layout and design
  • Positive work history with an ability to manage multiple tasks
  • SAP knowledge preferred
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Computer aptitude, proficiency in MS Office, to include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project Management
