Position Summary:<br>In this role, you'll ensure the smooth operation of production equipment and facility systems through preventive and corrective maintenance. You'll work across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and keep our production running efficiently.<br><br>
This full-time, on-site position requires someone with strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage both scheduled maintenance and urgent repairs.<ul><li>Maintenance Supervisor: $37–$42/hour <em>(Leadership role overseeing the team and ensuring smooth maintenance operations. Millwright certification is an asset).</em></li><li>*Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.<br><br></li></ul>
Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting:<ul><li>Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.</li><li>Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime.</li><li>Replace consumables (e.g., saw blades) and support general equipment upkeep.</li></ul></li><li>Preventive maintenance planning:<ul><li>Create and maintain preventive maintenance schedules based on manuals, history, and experience.</li><li>Keep a monthly/annual calendar of inspections and required service tasks.</li><li>Train production team members on basic cleaning, oiling, and simple PM tasks.</li></ul></li><li>Parts, vendors, and warranty management:<ul><li>Order and maintain spare parts inventory with accurate records.</li><li>Communicate with equipment manufacturers and contractors for warranty work, complex repairs, and parts delivery.</li><li>Follow up with external service providers to ensure timely completion of repairs.</li></ul></li><li>Documentation and reporting:<ul><li>Complete work orders, preventive maintenance records, and inspection reports in the maintenance database.</li><li>Escalate issues to the Production Supervisor or Director of Operations as required.</li><li>Prepare maintenance reports for review with management.</li></ul></li><li>Safety and compliance:<ul><li>Follow all health and safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out and PPE requirements.</li><li>Maintain clean and safe work areas and support general facility housekeeping standards.</li></ul></li><li>Cross-team collaboration:<ul><li>Work with Production Supervisors to prioritize repairs and schedule maintenance to support production needs.</li><li>Assist in training operators on proper equipment use and basic care.</li></ul></li><li>For candidates at the supervisory level:<ul><li>Lead the maintenance department, including daily prioritization, assignment of work orders, and coordination with production.</li><li>Own the preventive maintenance program: plan, schedule, and track PM activities across all key equipment.</li><li>Manage vendor relationships, negotiate service timing, and ensure high-quality external repairs.</li><li>Support production leadership by identifying risks, proposing improvements, and ensuring equipment reliability targets are met.</li><li>Report department performance, major issues, and completed work to the Director of Operations.</li></ul></li></ul>
<br>Skills and Requirements and Requirements:<ul><li>Proven experience as a Maintenance or Machine Supervisor, preferably in windows, glass, or doors manufacturing.</li><li>Our equipment includes Bottero cutting tables, Forel IGU lines, and CNC equipment from Urban, Proline, TigerStop, and others.</li><li>For the supervisory level: demonstrated leadership capability and experience working with external vendors.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems and experience working with industrial machinery.</li><li>Skilled in using hand and power tools to perform maintenance and repairs.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.</li><li>Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail with a proactive approach.</li><li>Willingness to work extended hours or be available for emergency maintenance needs.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and database systems for record keeping.</li><li>Physically fit to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the shift.</li></ul>
<br>Education & Experience:<ul><li>Post-secondary education or relevant trades certification required.</li><li>Millwright certification and/or Mechanical Engineering degree would be an asset.</li><li>Minimum 4+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Previous experience leading maintenance projects or teams is an advantage.</li></ul>
