<p>Morse Machining, a progressive, growing company based in Hantsport, Nova Scotia, is the newest member of the Scotia Investments Family of Companies. We are seeking a permanent, full-time Machinist (Conventional) to join our awesome team. We support our various clients with a focus on machinery service and repairs, installation, testing, maintenance, overhauls, fabrication, and shop work.</p><p>We're seeking an individual with 5 years or more experience working as a machinist, with a specialization in conventional machine tool equipment.</p><p>This role requires a dependable team player who works well in a deadline-driven, fast-paced manufacturing environment, with strong accuracy, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.</p><p>We offer great working hours as well as comprehensive group insurance benefits and a company pension plan. If you are looking for a company where you can grow and develop your career, we look forward to hearing from you.</p><p>What you'll be doing:</p><ul><li>Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables</li><li>Repair machine tools and parts</li><li>Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance</li><li>Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments</li><li>Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, calipers)</li><li>Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces</li><li>Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of conventional machinist equipment</li><li>Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and to ensure they conform to specification using precision measuring instruments</li><li>Operate machining tools to fabricate parts</li><li>Shifts include 7:30 AM – 4 PM, on-call, and overtime</li><li>Lifting up to 50 lbs</li><li>Standing for extended periods of time</li></ul><p>Preferred skills:</p><ul><li>Machine tool technology/machinist</li><li>Use of measuring tools: micrometers, calipers, gauges, verniers</li><li>Specialized machining processes: Plasma ARC</li><li>Equipment & machinery experience: Automatic lathes, broaching machine, drill presses, engine lathes, honing machines, milling machines, sawing machine, tapping machines, tool grinders, and universal grinders</li></ul><p>What you'll bring:</p><ul><li>Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience</li><li>Machinist Trade Certification and Red Seal Endorsement</li><li>Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate</li><li>A valid driver's license and reliable transportation (driver's abstract required)</li><li>Basic security clearance</li><li>Your own basic tools and steel-toed safety footwear.</li></ul><p><em>Morse Machining is an equal opportunity employer.</em></p><p>Job Types: Full-time, Permanent</p><p>Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour</p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>Company events</li><li>Company pension</li><li>Dental care</li><li>Disability insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Extended health care</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Mileage reimbursement</li><li>On-site parking</li><li>Vision care</li></ul><p>Work Location: In person</p>
