Our Client, a leader in the Packaging Industry is looking for a Machine Operator to join their team.
Duties:
- Operate packaging lines & associated equipment to achieve production and quality standards
- Set up and change over in a timely manner
- Maintain equipment and perform preventative maintenance as required
- General area housekeeping and maintain the line and equipment in a clean and safe manner
- Perform quality weight checks on line
- Complete shift paperwork
- Other duties as assigned
- May be asked to participate in Continuous Improvement activities
Requirements
- Basic English literacy and numeracy
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Ability to trouble shoot
- Ability to react quickly to line failures, take corrective action and keep pace with line demands while acting in a safe manner
- Ability to stay calm under pressure
- Ability to work well with others
- Previous experience with hot melt systems, ink jet coders, fillers, cappers, labellers and forklift operation is desirable
- This position involves rotating shift work
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
