Litigation Law Clerk

  • Full Time
  • Toronto

Cambridge LLP

Full-Time Permanent Hybrid

Cambridge LLP isn’t your typical corporate litigation firm. We don’t work out of a glass tower and we don’t have any marble. Instead, we’re 34 lawyers (and growing) who thrive on bold litigation, creative problem-solving, and doing serious legal work for our clients.

For this hybrid role, you’ll be working out of our Toronto office which is in a 1925 brick-and-beam building in the Entertainment District – just a few steps from the downtown core, but miles away from the rigid culture of traditional firms.

If you’re a self-starter who likes being part of a lean, driven team, you’ll probably feel right at home here.

The Role:

We’re on the hunt for a seasoned Litigation Law Clerk or Legal Assistant who:

  • Wants to do real work on real files (not just scheduling discoveries and printing PDFs).
  • Enjoys the pace of complex litigation and has a deep familiarity with the Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Thrives in a more flexible, less hierarchical workplace where you can shape your role.

You’ll be supporting a team of litigation lawyers working on high-stakes commercial disputes, real estate/construction litigation, estates litigation, cross-border litigation, defamation matters and more.

What You’ll Do:

  • Draft, format and proofread legal documents (pleadings, motion records, affidavits – the works).
  • Keep case files organized and moving forward like a well-oiled machine.
  • Handle e-filing and court correspondence with ease.
  • Provide top-tier administrative support without needing hand-holding.
  • Navigate the GTA court systems like a pro – from Brampton to Newmarket to downtown Toronto.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
  • A law clerk diploma from a Canadian college.
  • Strong understanding of civil litigation procedure and local court practices.
  • Rockstar-level attention to detail and organization.
  • Confidence with Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
  • Clear, professional communication – both written and spoken.
  • Canadian citizenship or legal residency.

Why Cambridge LLP?

  • Extended health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • We punch above our weight – in court and in firm culture.
  • We believe in giving people room to grow, not micromanaging.
  • We value initiative, creativity, and lawyers/clerks who bring ideas to the table.
  • Our branding is black and orange for a reason: we’re not beige.
