Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: Halifax, NS, Canada
Contract Duration: 63 business days (Possibility of extension)
Schedule: 4 days per week, 11.25 hours per day
Position Overview
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide compassionate, patient-focused care within a collaborative healthcare environment.
The LPN will care for patients with defined health challenges and predictable outcomes and, under RN supervision, support interventions in more complex scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care within defined scope and in coordination with the RN and healthcare team.
- Support patients with stable, predictable conditions and escalate as needed to the supervising RN.
- Participate in monitoring, documenting, and reporting patient outcomes effectively.
- Administer medications and initiate IVs where applicable and approved per unit protocol.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Active LPN license in Nova Scotia (or eligibility to practice in the province).
- Ability to perform IV initiation and medication administration (subject to site/unit approval).
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated ability to document accurately and comply with clinical protocols.
- Recent practical experience in a similar healthcare setting preferred.
