<p>CREATING CALM LEAD FACILITATOR-Fixed Term Contract</p><p>Program: Creating Calm</p><p>Reports to: Program Manager</p><p>Job Summary</p><p>Lead Facilitator for fixed-term contract position for our Creating Calm group. We are looking for an enthusiastic clinical counsellor to fulfill the Lead Facilitator position for the Child & Youth Mental Health-Creating Calm Anxiety Management Group.</p><p>Creating Calm is a therapeutic program that is intended to reduce mental health symptoms, increase coping skills with peers, within family and improve personal social skills. Specific goals are to provide education and support regarding childhood anxiety, increase their self-awareness, develop a range of coping methods for anxious behaviours and build social confidence. This group also provides information to parents about childhood anxiety, how to increase bravery and build confidence in children, implement new parenting strategies as needed and support their children more effectively.</p><p>The ideal candidate will possess:</p><ul><li>A masters level degree in psychology, counselling, social work or related field</li><li>Experience facilitating youth groups</li><li>Excellent organizational skills</li><li>Ability to work independently</li><li>Ability to work with children of different ages and abilities as well as parents/caregivers</li><li>Good verbal & written communication skills</li><li>Ability to work in an inclusive and sensitive environment where individuals may have a variety of different backgrounds, needs and/or perspectives</li><li>Knowledgeable of child and youth mental health challenges and needs</li></ul><p>Contract Position Requirements:</p><ul><li>To organize, prepare for and co-facilitate two weekly therapeutic anxiety management groups for children ages 7-9 and 10-12.</li><li>Administrative duties as needed</li><li>To meet individually with parents/caregivers for initial screening</li><li>Produce and maintain confidential records, annual reports, stats, and progress reports in a timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures</li><li>Conduct evaluations and obtain feedback on group effectiveness</li><li>To communicate and work respectfully and effectively with the co-facilitator(s)</li></ul><p>Hours:</p><p>This is a contract position ending in March 2026 with possibility for renewal in September 2026;</p><p>Required hours are up to 10-hours weekly as needed;</p><p>Starting wage $43.00/hour</p><p>Diversity: CVFSA welcomes applications from all qualified applicants including but not limited by those of any sex, race, gender, orientation, or disability.
