Lead Electrical Engineer – Building Consulting

Location: Hamilton, Ontario
Type: Full-time, On-site

About the Role:
A growing building engineering consultancy is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their Hamilton/Burlington office. This is a fully on-site role, ideal for an experienced electrical professional who enjoys working hands-on with design teams while providing leadership and mentorship to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical design for building projects, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.

  • Oversee and mentor designers and engineers within the electrical team.

  • Coordinate project requirements with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams.

  • Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and reports.

  • Conduct site visits and support construction administration.

  • Ensure project quality, budgets, and schedules are met.

  • Contribute to business development and proposal support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

  • P.Eng. designation in Ontario (or eligibility).

  • 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in building design consulting.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior staff.
